Bishop Luis Rafael Zarama designated Oct. 13 as Catholic Charities Sunday in the Diocese of Raleigh.
The day is an opportunity for parishioners to learn more about services -- from Catholic Charities staff, board members and volunteers -- designed to help those in need.
Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Raleigh, Inc., serves people of all faiths or no faith tradition throughout 54 counties in eastern North Carolina through eight regional offices.
After Catholic Charities Sunday, each regional office will hold an open house Wednesday, Oct. 16, from 5:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. Staff and volunteers will share information about the services provided in the community. Find the office nearest you.
Last year Catholic Charities served 63,000 people through programs such as Disaster Services, Family Support Services, Immigration Services and Emergency Assistance.
