Married couples from around the Diocese of Raleigh gathered Oct. 15 with friends and family for the annual Wedding Anniversary Mass, honoring couples celebrating milestones of married life.
During the Mass at Holy Name of Jesus Cathedral, Bishop Luis Zarama bestowed the Rite of Blessing of Married Couples. Couples celebrating special milestones such as 25, 50 or more than 60 years of marriage received special recognition.
To celebrate the occasion, each couple also received a commemorative certificate and had the opportunity to have photos taken with Bishop Luis following Mass. The photos are available for online viewing and download.
This event was coordinated by the Office of Evangelization and Discipleship, which is dedicated to providing support, resources and learning opportunities surrounding the vocation of married life. The Marriage and Family Life ministry offers Marriage Enrichment Resources and support for couples year-round.
