Cristo Rey Research Triangle High School to open in fall

What began as a feasibility study several years ago and was followed by an 18-month launch phase is now Cristo Rey Research Triangle High School, which will open its doors to its first freshman class in August of 2021.

It will be the 38th school in the Cristo Rey Network, which is the largest network of Catholic high schools in the country. CRRTHS’s goal is clear: to prepare every student for college and career, and to help them become the very best person that the Lord has called them to be.

This unique high school will deliver a career focused, college preparatory education in the Catholic tradition for students with limited economic resources, uniquely integrating rigorous academic curricula with four years of professional work experience and support to and through college.  It will partner with educators, businesses and communities to enable students to fulfill their aspirations for a lifetime of success.

Located in the historic American Tobacco Campus in downtown Durham, CRRTHS has been enrolling students, engaging with local companies, hiring staff, and working with community benefactors to bring this transformational school to fruition.

There is still much to be done as the school moves through the summer months.

Enrollment is ongoing but will be capped at 100 students for this initial freshman class -- growing to 400 total students with full 9-12th grade.
