All Saints in Hampstead opened its doors to over 400 people last week for a three-day parish mission. Each night began with uplifting contemporary Christian songs led by the music ministry and inspirational discipleship talks by featured speakers Tony Brandt and Chris Stewart from Casting Nets Ministries, while fun, faith-filled activities were offered for the youth. At the conclusion of each evening, the community engaged in vibrant conversations and fellowship.
Jackie Rourke, director of Evangelization and Christian Formation, invited people inside and outside the parish community to the mission, offering an opportunity to renew and deepen their faith and relationship with the Lord.
Dana Spillane, member of the Stewardship Ministry, prayed for the event, hoping “our faith community will feel more confident in Christ’s unconditional love and mercy and are empowered to bear witness to all we encounter by how we live out our daily lives.”
During the event, Casting Nets ministers Tony Brandt and Chris Stewart shared ideas on how to fully engage in a relationship with Jesus and to live joyfully as disciples of Christ using these pillars of evangelization: to be prayerful, invitational, hospitable, inspirational, sacramental, formational and sent on mission.
After the event, Monsignor Joseph Ntuwa, pastor, shared, “The three days of Disciples on a Mission with the dynamic speakers from Casting Nets has been so uplifting for our parish community. We are at a momentous time as plans to expand our facilities of this vibrant parish head into the advanced phase. Like the first disciples who moved from being fearful and discouraged fishermen, we are ready to be transformed into messengers of grace and hope, as missionary disciples that share the love of God with those we encounter as we grow our faith by sharing it.”
